Lapta, or Lapithos as it is also known is a short drive to the East of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus. Once a refuge from pirates that marauded the coastal towns, Lapta today is a farming village that plays host to holiday makers looking for retreat. Its high altitude offers wonderful views of the Mediterranean and mountain air, with the option of heading for the coast and the bustling towns nearby.
Lapta is renowned for producing handicrafts and its quiet way of life. Walkers will enjoy the many trails through the citrus groves and pine forests, and the streams that flow from springs in the mountains and irrigate the fields on their way to the sea far below.
THE VILLA FOR RENT
The fireplace and rugs create a cosy feeling in cooler evenings, and the tiled floors and white walls bring summer cool to the dining area and kitchen area.

LAPTA CYPRUS TOURIST INFORMATION
Lefkosa is the commercial capital of Northern Cyprus and lies inland on the central plain. Surrounded by a Venetian wall, the old town is a mixture of old and new and there is a large covered market (Banadabulya) to be explored. The kings of Cyprus were crowned in the cathedral and the Buyuk Han caravanserai (old lodging or inn) is one of many interesting sites.
Northern Cyprus is served by Ercan airport.
